Two men were shot at the Capricorn Restaurant and Bar on the island of Grand Bahama on Wednesday morning. One of the men died in hospital while the other was critically injured.
Assistant Commissioner of Police for the Northern Bahamas, Shanta Knowles held a press event where she gave details of the investigation. She said, “our officers continued their investigations into this matter and as a result of the information they received they took one adult male into custody in connection with this incident and later recovered a firearm that we believe was used in the commission of this incident.”
Knowles added, “the two men who were transported to hospital received medical care and unfortunately we received information shortly after 9am today that one of them had succumbed to their injuries.”
According to the Assistant Commissioner the suspect in police custody is known to them and is currently on bail for firearm related offences while being electronically monitored. The man is said to have cut off the monitoring device shortly after the incident.
