Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey was the special guest speaker for a banquet that honored the work of a man who has served the Grand Bahama community for over 20 years.
On Friday, December 5, 2025, at the City of Light Convention center, Minister Moxey joined hundreds of Grand Bahamians who showed up to honor Dudley and Katie Seide of ‘Reach Out Organization,’ which has been a pillar of support and hope for thousands of Grand Bahamians, particularly during tough times.
The organization was originally started to help focus boys and young men on paths that led away from crime to ones that led to success and the building of men who go on to make positive contributions to society. Over the years, the organization has evolved to assist not just boys and young men, but women and even older persons within the community.
“Whether counselling someone in crisis, distributing food packages, organizing basketball tournaments, partnering with the government and the private sector to expand opportunities, Dudley meets every challenge with the same passion and unwavering faith in God,” said Minister Moxey in her keynote address at Friday’s banquet.
“Thanks to his tireless commitment, Dudley redirected the lives of countless young men, uplifting families and restoring hope for a brighter future.
“Through his visionary leadership over the years, the Reach Out Youth Organization did more than create programs. It has created hope and second chances, where many did not exist. Restored dignity and confidence and instilled purpose in countless young men who needed someone to believe in them.”
Minister Moxey noted that she has known Dudley Seide and his wife Katie for close to twenty years and was fascinated with the hard work and commitment to the community by the husband-and-wife team.
She reflected on a time, while at the Grand Bahama Port Authority Dudley and Katie had stopped by seeking assistance for a project they were set to launch. Recognizing the work which the couple had already been doing within the community, Minister Moxey told them at the time that it was important to strengthen the organization and help it achieve more good in the community.
Minister Moxey pointed out that organizations like Reach Out are vital partners in her Ministry’s shared effort to strengthen and uplift the Grand Bahama community. She added that her Ministry’s mandate — to partner with NGOs, businesses, other government agencies and the community at large, to assist with the basic needs of residents and support the growth and development of Grand Bahama Island — cannot be accomplished without the push and organizations like Reach Out.
It is for this reason, she added, that the Ministry for Grand Bahama has been a steadfast supporter of Reach Out Youth Organization over the past four years.
“Tonight, we celebrate more than just Dudley’s achievements. We honor his enduring legacy of service and community impact. A legacy not built on accolades, but on impact that has strengthened communities and demonstrated what is possible when we choose faith over fear, dedicate ourselves to service, work collaboratively, and extend a hand instead of pointing a finger.
“Dudley, you and Katie are examples of what love of community feels like and a reminder that the most significant investment we can make is in our young people. May your example continue to inspire generations to come.”
