Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Free National Movement (FNM), the Hon. Michael Pintard responded to the resignation of the Member of Parliament for Central Grand Bahama, the Hon. Iram Lewis from the FNM in the House Of Assembly on Wednesday.
Pintard thanked Lewis for his service and contributions to the Party and wish him the best in his endeavors. He also said that the Party had released a statement that more fully addressed the matter.
The statement said, “on more than one occasion, the Executive Committee of the Party has called Mr. Lewis’ behaviour into question for certain actions displayed. In addition, the constituency association recently wrote to the Party requesting that Mr. Lewis not be renominated as the Party’s standard bearer in the next election for reasons stated by them. “
The statement also said that the FNM working in consultation with the constituency association to identify a new candidate for the Central Grand Bahama constituency.
