At a zone meeting held at the Free National Movement’s (FNM) Grand Bahama headquarters on Monday the leaders of the Party slammed the Member of Parliament for Central Grand Bahama, the Hon. Iram Lewis for resigning from the Party.
Party Leader, the Hon. Michael Pintard told supporters, “I regret that a wiser decision was not made not so much not to go but at least to have a conversation with you. And so at the end of the day I want to say to you that while we appreciate our brother bad decision and judgement must be rewarded with the most significant cut hip that he has ever seen.”
The Hon. Iram Lewis, who has served as an MP since 2017 announced his resignation from the FNM to join the ranks of the Coalition Of Independents in the House Of Assembly last Wednesday. Pintard said, “Central Grand Bahamas deserves good leadership, accountable leadership, that don’t have no problems telling you how the $150K that we are given on your behalf is spent, who don’t have a problem taking criticism. At the end of the day all of us ought to listen in humility to the people we work for. We work for you.”
This zone meeting was held one day after the FNM leaders announced that the Party will not be offering a nomination to former Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis to run in the next general election.
