Leader of the Opposition and Member of Parliament for Marco City, the Hon. Michael Pintard questioned the government’s response to the collapse of FTX Digital Market while speak in the House of Assembly on Wednesday.

“Whenever there is a vacuum, a silence or an absence of explanation or putting in context of such a serious situation as a meltdown of a massive company that is registered here in The Bahamas that vacuum will be filled by others. Many of whom are enemies of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.”

Prime Minister and member for Cat Island, Rum Cay and San Salvador, the Hon. Philip Davis replied saying, “we took, if you’ll listen to me, we took action locally to ensure that we protect the jurisdiction. Facts are unfolding, you don’t jump ahead of yourself to make these cheap political shots, understand what the facts are, they’re still unfolding.”

The Prime Minister made a communication to Parliament on the collapse of FTX Digital Markets at it last sitting.
