The Grand Bahama Port Authority (GBPA), as regulator of utilities on the island, responded to a request made by the Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC) to raise it’s rates on Tuesday.
GBPA Vice President of Legal Affairs, Karla McIntosh told ZNS News, “we understand that energy expenses are a critical factor in daily living and commercial operations. As such, we are committed to working diligently to explore and implement solutions that can help alleviate this burdens to ensure that energy remains affordable and accessible for all. Our goal is to support the economic vitality of Grand Bahama while maintaining the highest standards of service and reliability.”
