Officials at Aliv appeared at a press conference on Monday to address issues with ticket sales for the upcoming Boxing Day and New Year’s Day Junkanoo parades.
Aliv Chief Information Officer, Dwayne Davis told reporters, “I can attest that at 7:30 this morning persons were at the Harbour Bay Shopping Center waiting for tickets to be sold. It’s important to note that there are only 8,114 tickets available for sale. Out of the 8,114 tickets for Boxing Day 37% were preserved for sponsors, the JCNP and others. Sadly, everybody wants to sit in Rawson Square and everyone wants to sit in front of Scotiabank. Where did most of that 37% come from? In Rawson Square and Scotiabank. Those areas are sold out but there are other areas on Bay Street that are available for purchase.”
