L. W. Young Junior High School hosted an exhibition promoting entrepreneurship last week. Speaking at the event was Executive Chairman of the Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC), the Hon. Leroy Major.
Major told students, “BAIC will lease land for farming, manufacturing and touristic development on the islands of Abaco, Eleuthera. We will be getting land in Cat Island. We will be getting land in Grand Bahama also in Long Island and in Exuma.”
Also mentioning the newly launched Golden Egg Project, Major said, “we will have thirty eight grow houses on twelve family islands and grow houses on New Providence with chicken produces enough eggs for Bahamian consumption to reduce the large number of eggs imported into the country annually. This is yet another area where Bahamian entrepreneurs are to be recruited.”
