Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Mario Bowleg encourages young campers taking part in the Basketball Smiles 26th Anniversary Camp, at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium, on June 17, 2025. The Abilene, Texas-based camp is free and gives Bahamian children the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of basketball and life skills. According to Basketball Smiles President, CEO and Founder Coach Sam Nichols, over the years, the camp gave out more than 10,000 branded basketballs and backpacks, and over 30,000 meals, to around 12,000 male and female campers.
