Government officials led by Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis traveled to the Abacos for a groundbreaking ceremony for a resort project under construction on Montage Cay. The project is the result of a partnership between Sterling Global Financial and Montage International.
Montage International Founder and CEO, Alan Fuerstman spoke to reporters at the event expressing his excitement for the eventual opening of the project. “Just the natural setting is phenomenal. The topography, its not just a flat island it has some great elevation so you get to experience so many different feelings and we’ll be able to amenitize it with great recreational amenities, tennis, pickle ball, great spa destination. And so it will be a place to come and really get to enjoy all that the Abacos have to offer.”
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony Founder and Executive Chairman of Sterling Global Financial , Davids Kosoy said, “throughout here we’re gonna have approximately two hundred beds or two hundred rooms so at times there could be up to five hundred people here. We have fifty hotel keys and suites. The average suite’s about a thousand square feet for one room. Where as you look at other hotels, major hotels, they’re half that and the décor here will be amazing.”
For his part, Prime Minister Davis said, “several villas are already under construction. I’m told that the presale for construction is going quite well and work has began. Timeline is by the end of 2024, we should be turning keys and cutting ribbon.”
The value of the project is approximately $352 million dollars and will consist of a resort, residences and marinas on the fifty three acre property.
