On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation (MOTIA) welcomed the M/V Oceania Allura on its inaugural call at Freeport Harbour.
The occasion was marked by a plaque exchange ceremony between Captain Leo Lujak and officials from MOTIA and Freeport Harbour, commemorating the vessel’s first visit to the island.
During the ceremony, Captain Lujak shared that the voyage began on March 21 and will conclude on April 4, with a total of 1,083 passengers onboard.
Marking the ship’s first call to Grand Bahama Island, MOTIA Senior Manager of Guest Services and Training Karenda Rolle stated, “This means for the Ministry of Tourism that we are able to meet our mandate and ensure that our guests have a phenomenal experience when they come to the destination.
“Cruise lines as such, we welcome them with open arms because we have our taxi drivers, our vendors, tour operators, our industry partners that are waiting to roll out the red carpet for them. We are hoping that this is a continued relationship and we look forward to serving them, she added.
