A man was shot and killed while behind the wheel of a vehicle in the Nassau Village area early on Sunday.
Police Press Officer, Inspector Desiree Ferguson was on the scene where she briefed reporters on what officers met on arrival to the scene after being alerted by shot spotter technology. She said, “they met an adult male driver in a blue Honda vehicle with extensive gunshot damages. He was also suffering from multiple gunshot injuries. EMS were called to this area, they responded, they examined the victim and they determined that he showed no signs of life.”
Ferguson added, “our initial investigations reveal thus far is that the male had just arrived at a residence in this area when he was accosted by three males who we believe to be all armed with high powered weapons. They exited from a light coloured Japanese vehicle and opened fire on the victim, shooting him multiple times.”
The Inspector warned members of the public who associate with persons who are prolific offenders or on bail for serious offences that they may become targets.
The victim is the 22nd homicide since the start of 2024.
