A new national breakfast program was announced in the 2023-2024 budget communication delivered by Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Philip Davis.
Deputy Director of Urban Renewal Sen. Hon. Kirk Russell gave an update on the implementation of the new program. “We started the program actually in our Urban Renewal Centers once, twice a week our Urban centers would provide breakfast for the students, they still do it.”
Russell also said that Prime Minister is working to complete the program, source funding and qualify the program as to how it ought to be managed. “There’s a lot of little logistics you have to work out. Of course you would have to do proper training, sanitation, hygiene, food presentation, rotational menu for these students to ensure that they are getting not just a breakfast but a good healthy breakfast.”
