The New Mt. Zion Baptist Church located on Balliou Hill Road South held a service on Sunday in celebration of the 14th pastoral anniversary of Senior Pastor, Rev. Alfred Stewart.
In response to the celebrations Rev. Stewart said, “I’ve been wearing a couple different hats over the years, pretty active in the work of ministry. We here at New Mt. Zion we believe in going beyond the norm of preaching the word. We also become involved in serving the community in a number of ways and we continue to do that. That’s been a tremendous blessing for us.”
Stewart added, “as far as my other activities, as you’re aware, I’ve been very much involved in the referendums we had. There were five pastors of us who led that initiative and we give God thanks for the outcome. I primarily try to be an example,”
