Over 300 Public School Administrators gathered at the British Colonial Hotel for a two-day conclave from August 18 – 19. The event was held under the theme: Transformational Leadership: Building Capacity, Raising Standards, Achieving Excellence.”
During the opening ceremony held on Monday, August 18, 2025, Minister of Education & Technical & Vocational Training (MOETVT), the Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin thanked the Administrators for their commitment to education and to the nation’s children.
“I am honored to be a part of this prestigious gathering today, among some of the most dedicated and hardworking persons in education,” she said. “I wish to publicly thank you for your service to the children of The Bahamas. Your commitment to ensuring the quality of the standard of education to 150 schools and over 50,000 children is commendable.”
Minister Hanna-Martin said that the journey for the development of education is not an easy one and takes the highest level of commitment as Administrators are called upon to set the tone by building capacity by equipping teachers with the necessary skills and training, ensuring that the proper tools and resources are available, raising the standards to ensure that all students are included in the objectives of the government and ensuring that schools meet their key objectives in the delivery of education.
“The government has materially decided to make education a national priority. Our message has been consistent: Our children are our most valuable resource.”
