The Bahamas is currently in one of the most active months of the hurricane season.  There have been twelve named storms thus far, the latest storm in the country’s vicinity is Hurricane Lee.

Acting Director of the Bahamas Department of Meteorology Jeffrey Simmons says that there could be up to twenty named storms this season. “We have been fortunate so far.  So far we have up to L which is Lee.  We have now depression number 14 which will become Margo, I suspect in the next few days. That’s an excellent thing for this time of the season.  You might remember two years ago with had Dorian from September 1 and on many occasions we had a lot of August storms that actually affected us over the past years so this year so far we’ve been very fortunate here in The Bahamas.”

The Acting Direct expects no major impact from Hurricane Lee in The Bahamas.
