Prime Minister and Minister of Finance the Hon. Philip Davis joined with Acting Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Zane Lightbourne; Minister of State for Aviation the Hon. Basil McIntosh; and Undersecretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources Montez Williams in welcoming the 2025 Bahamas CARIFTA Track and Field team back from home from Trinidad and Tobago, on April 23, 2025. Scores of family members and wellwishers cheered on the team as they came through customs after their late-night flight.
Junkanooers and a brief ceremony in their honour met them outside at the the Lynden Pindling International Airport.
The team won 37 medals, including 16 gold, 13 silver and eight bronze.
