Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis responded to Opposition criticism on the Grand Lucayan sale on Tuesday.
A heads of agreement was signed between the government and Concord Wilshire for the redevelopment of the property in May of this year. Over the weekend Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Michael Pintard questioned the progress being made since the signing and why employees at the resort had not received salary payments.
While speaking with reporters Mr. Davis said, “the FNM had five MPs. First of all they did a bad deal in the sale of the Grand Lucayan or buying it and I’m trying to clean up their mess. What did they do?”
The Grand Lucayan Resort was acquired by the government in 2018 at a cost of approximately $65 million.
