Prime Minister and Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Leader, the Hon. Philip Davis accompanied by PLP Deputy Leader, the Hon. Chester Cooper and other party officials traveled to Grand Bahama last week where they attended he official opening of campaign headquarters in East and West Grand Bahama.
While speaking in West Grand Bahama Mr. Davis told supporters, “last week I was telling everyone that we we’re on election watch. Now I want to come to tell y’all PLPs we’re on election warning. So hear me well, this afternoon, we are on election warning here in West Grand Bahama. This is the hour, being in the warning of the season, this is the hour for discipline. This is the hour for urgency. This is the hour for all hands on deck.”
Mr. Davis also said the upcoming election is a choice between two parties. He said, “it is a choice between a party that’s gonna ask the people to forget and a party that asks people to judge us by what we have done. The FNM (Free National Movement) had their chance. They froze annual increments for public servants. They left many workers carrying strain and uncertainty. They governed in a way that left many Bahamians feeling unseen and unheard. The PLP came to office and moved to restore dignity to working people. We restored annual increments. We raised the minimum wage. We signed labour agreements. We gave public servants a government that respects their value.”
The Prime Minister has advised citizens to register by Easter.
