Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis responded to calls from the opposition for the resignation of the Minister of Education and Technical and Vocational Training, the Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin. Minister Hanna Martin publicly shared her continued disagreement with the proposed Royal Caribbean beach club development on Paradise Island which has been approved by Cabinet. Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Michael Pintard called for Hanna Martin’s resignation citing collective responsibility for cabinet decisions.

When asked for comment over the weekend, Prime Minister Davis said, “this is a different deal and if the deal was what we rejected or spoke up against while we were in opposition I would have had the same position she has today. But the deal is fundamentally different and I think once she understands what the deal is about we’ll see what happens. As I said before the deal has yet to be consummated. There are still some subjects that has to be fulfilled. There are still some preconditions that has to be fulfilled and once they are fulfilled that’s when the deal will come to actuality.”
