Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis responded to calls for the annual Junkanoo parades to be moved from Bay Street.
The Prime Minister said it is not a priority for this administration to move the Junkanoo parades. “The question is do we move that essence of Junkanoo from Bay Street. We’re not given any consideration for that at this time. Its just a question of managing persons. We can only accommodate so many persons on Bay Street. And those who were unable to come we may have to find a way to ensure that they could see it either virtually or set up virtual settings of virtual viewing on parks etc. so you can have the same feel as though you’re on Bay Street but we’ll just have to look at how this turns out,” Davis said.
