The Minister of Health and Wellness, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville gave an update on the availability of beds at the Princess Margaret Hospital outside of Cabinet on Tuesday.

Dr. Darville said, “its always good to have more beds because our accident and emergency is sort of cyclical, sometimes its very busy sometimes again there’s a breather. And these additional beds help because it moves patients very quickly out of the accident and emergency to a space where they can get the necessary services and move them quickly from off trollies to appropriate beds. So these particular beds are proving to be very helpful for the smooth flow of the operation of the hospital.”

A ribbon cutting and blessing ceremony was held last month for a 39 bed modular unit. Renovations were also conducted at the Princess Margaret Hospital including wards Male Medical 1 and 2 and Female Surgical 1.
