Grand Bahama police are investigating the islands latest homicide incident. A man was stabbed during an altercation while at a business establishment on East Sunrise Highway early on Thursday.
According to police the victim drove himself from the scene. Officer In Charge of the Criminal Investigation Department, Superintendent Nicholas Johnson said, “officers later arrived at the hospital where they confirmed the information. As a result of the information they learned that an adult male was brought in there with apparent stab wounds about the body.”
The man, believed to be in his twenties, died at the hospital. Police are following significant leads in the investigation with the assistance of a person in custody.
Superintendent Johnson appealed to the public to act responsibly. He said, “we don’t want these incidents to happen. We want persons when they go out to the nightclubs or any place take care of themselves, avoid any conflicts just walk away. But if you do engage in these conflicts be assured that they police will do their job and we want to keep the public safe during this holiday.”
