A young man was beaten and stabbed in an altercation that occurred over the weekend at a dock at the Port Lucaya Marketplace on the island of Grand Bahama. The fight was caught on surveillance cameras and circulated widely on social media.
Port Lucaya Director, Ivan Moss provided details of the incident to ZNS News. He said, “the fight was on one of the porch at one of the other establishments, someone get stabbed and someone get strike in their mouth. I understand they lose maybe two, maybe three tooth.”
According to Moss the participants in the fight arrived at the Port Lucaya Marketplace by boat at the closed marina. The individual with the stab wounds was discovered bleeding on the dock. “The guys them took the guy off the dock area, lift him off the dock, walked through the market we refer to as the Lucayan Market. They take him in a vehicle and they take him to the Rand where they had him stable. He is living at this time,” Moss said.
The Port Lucaya Director assured the public of their commitment to safety. He said, “we have a group of security. We run a twenty four hour shift. And we’re quite capable of handling our own with the assistance of a police officer who is straight across the street. We do one call they’ll be here in now time.”
The incident is under investigation by the police.
