Prime Minister the Hon. Philip Davis will lead The Bahamas’ delegation to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where the country will advocate for multilateral cooperation, peace and security.
The delegation’s priorities include climate action, reform of international finance, regional security, reparations, artificial intelligence and digital sovereignty. The Bahamas will also seek support for Bahamian Stephen Bereaux’s candidacy for Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union for 2027–2030, and for its bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for 2032–2033.
During the Prime Minister’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Chester Cooper will serve as Acting Prime Minister until Prime Minister Davis returns on Saturday, 26 September 2026.
