An important topic covered at the CARICOM conference last week was the challenges being experienced in Haiti. Prime Minister Davis, who acted as Chairman at the meetings, spoke on the issue at a press event.

“Any aid that’s been sent to Haiti or any aid to be given to Haiti is being hijacked by the gangs because we are advised that the gangs control the points of entry to be able to get food and other supplies and medicine to the population. There is an urgency to the matter and that’s why I would have said within weeks, won’t give the times now, but within weeks, I dare say within the next three weeks, you would see the results of the efforts of CARICOM.”
