While addressing the annual church service of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force at the Living Waters Kingdom Ministries Commodore Dr. Raymond King spoke about new initiatives for the organization.

King said, “because of our presence particularly in the southern Bahamas the irregular movement of migrants and other transnational criminal activities have been successfully mitigated and deterred. These efforts have been skillfully executed using a maritime security plan which seeks to deter, deny and detain criminal elements.”

King continued, “at present one hundred and twenty five candidates remain in the new entry basic training program and thirty industry professionals are being sourced to join the reserve unit to acquire the scarce competencies and augment the active service corp. Additionally, an aggressive recruitment drive is underway beginning in the family islands to enlist another two hundred recruits during the first half of the fiscal year 2023/24.”

The Commodore also told congregants about plans for RBDF including the expansion of regional commands, the installation of a communications system and the acquisition of new vessels.
