The life of Rev. Dr. Lloyd Smith was remembered at a service at the Mount Horeb Baptist Cathedral where he served as the Senior Pastor on Sunday morning.

Pastor of Faith United Missionary Baptist Church Rev. Dr. William Thompson recounted that he was at Mount Horeb sitting next to Rev. Dr. Smith at the funeral service where he collapsed. Rev. He had his own firm that was very, very successful and he was a good businessman. When he can into the church he brough that same acumen.”

Also in attendance at the service following Rev. Dr. Smith’s passing was the Senior Pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church Rev. Dr. Philip McPhee who said, “God used him (Rev. Dr. Smith) in a mighty way, brought him from a long way to the highest position in a denomination, in fact the largest denomination in this country, Baptist. He came a long way in a very short time and made a tremendous contribution to Baptists.”

Members of the Mount Horeb Church also remembered their pastor. Rev. Smith died on Saturday after collapsing during a service at his church.
