Senate President, Sen. Hon. Lashell Adderley offered condolences to the families of recent traffic fatality victims on Thursday.
During the President’s remarks section of the agenda, Senator Adderley spoke about the lost potential and promise of the lives cut short. She said, “it is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that I convey heartfelt condolences on the loss of six beautiful young women. Six young daughters filled with promise, purpose, determination and zest. All cut short of their destiny. On behalf of the senate body I hereby extend our sincerest sympathies to the bereaved families, their loved ones, friends and all who have been affected by this devastating tragedy.”
The Senate President appealed to motorists to drive safely and advised parents to pay attention to their children especially over the summer months.
“Summer can be fun and exciting for many. Regrettably, the reality is that many young boys and girls will fall prey to physical and sexual abuse. I urge parents, grandparents and guardians to pay careful attention to your children’s whereabouts, safety and who is looking after them while you are away from home,” she said.
