A man was killed in a police involved shooting on Sunday in the Seven Hills community.

Police Press Liaison Officer Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings was on the scene where she gave details of the incident to members of the media. She said, “officers from the Southwestern Division were conducting routine road checks at the intersection of Gladstone Road and Firetrail Road when they observed the driver of a dark coloured Nissan Cube acting suspicious. They attempted to stop the driver however he sped off at a high rate of speed thus a chase ensued which ended in the Seven Hills area where there was an exchange of gunshots which resulted in the driver being shot fatally. At present His Majesty’s Coroner is on scene, she is now taking charge of investigations into this latest police involved shooting.”
