A 16 year old girl was shot and killed in her home in Nassau Village over the weekend.
Police Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings was on the scene where she briefed reporters on the incident. ”We received a call shortly before midnight. Information received is that a 16 year old teen girl was inside her residence, she was reportedly charging her phone when some unknown person or persons fired gunshots into the home.”
Skippings added, “we are investigating and again we make an appeal to members of this community who may have seen or heard something. You may have seen someone running from the area. You may have heard some talking, we’re asking you to kindly reach out”
The Chief Superintendent said the police will continue with their saturations patrols, foot patrol, urban renewal and other crime prevention initiatives in the various communities.
The other occupants of the home were unharmed in the incident. According to police the teen becomes the 8th homicide for 2024.
