Father Sebastian Campbell hosted a service commemorating the anniversary of Majority Rule at St. Gregory’s Anglican Church in New Providence.
Father Campbell, who was an advocated for the removal of Columbus Day in favor of National Heroes Day, spoke to ZNS News about the meaning of Majority Rule. “Majority Rule is celebrating our oneness as Bahamians. To show that not because the colour of your skin, you’re white you’re right, browns hang around, black stand back but that we are all one people.”
Rev. Dr. Kari Marcelle spoke at the service saying, “Paul reminds us that the human categories we have don’t define us and Majority Rule is all about those categories that in this country we are all one people who should be united in love and service.”
