Lockdown extended for Grand Bahama

Grand Bahama today starts another long stretch of a national lockdown after its initial two weeks were extended. As a minimum, the movement of Bahamians and residents have then been restricted until August 19th at 5:00am.

S.R.C activates isolation wards after 23 patients test positive for COVID-19

The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) and Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre (SRC) wishes to confirm that twenty-three (23) persons on the Male Ward at SRC tested positive for COVID-19 after a staff member who worked across three (3) wards at the institution tested positive for the virus. Of the patients testing positive, six (6) presented as symptomatic and the other seventeen (17) asymptomatic.

PAHO Presents Equipment to Ministry of Health to Help Fight COVID-19

The Pan American Health Organization presented the Ministry of Health with equipment to assist in the fight against Covid-19. The donation included laboratory equipment, COVID-19 tests, laptops, mobile phones and modems. A handover ceremony was held at the Ministry, August 6, 2020
