Lend a Hand Bahamas receives an additional $50,000 donation from Kiril...

Lend a Hand Bahamas, a Bahamian nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce an additional charitable contribution of $50,000 from Kiril Sokoloff of Lyford Cay who has worked closely with its POA to help the Bahamian people, which will be matched $1 for $1. This donation will help enhance vital food security in the Bahamas. Mr. Sokoloff made a previous $50,000 donation in June 2020 to help jumpstart food relief efforts with Lend a Hand Bahamas. He is now once again stepping up during this difficult time, and challenging others to join him.

Marijuana Committee To Reconvene

The Marijuana Committee is looking to get things back on track and meet virtually within the next week in hopes of compiling a final report as soon as possible. The Committee submitted its preliminary report back in January.

Lockdown extended for Grand Bahama

Grand Bahama today starts another long stretch of a national lockdown after its initial two weeks were extended. As a minimum, the movement of Bahamians and residents have then been restricted until August 19th at 5:00am.

Junkanoo Summer Digital Competition Extends Submissions Deadline!

The Junkanoo Summer Digital Competition Committee has extended the submissions deadline to August 9, 2020, with voting to begin on August 10, 2020.

RBDF Extends Condolences for Leading Mechanic L. R. Pratt

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force extends sincerest condolences to the family of the late Leading Mechanic (LM) Livingston Ricardo Pratt, who passed away on 6 August 2020. Pratt enlisted in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force as a member of New Entry 39 Woman Entry 11 on the 12 January 2004.
