NASSAU, The Bahamas – Prime Minister the Hon. Philip Davis gave the keynote address at the grand re-opening of Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island, Cable Beach on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
Among officials on the guest list were: the Most Hon. Andrew Michael Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica and his delegation; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation the Hon I. Chester Cooper; Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals International; and Adrian Whitehead, General Manager, Sandals. The event marked the re-opening of the resort since closure at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
The Prime Minister stated: “I particularly welcome the genuine commitment to the Caribbean displayed under the leadership of Adam Stewart, and his father before him. We need more entrepreneurs like them, bold, visionary, and unashamedly celebrating the unique and multi-faceted delights of the jewels of the Caribbean. Since their arrival in 1996, the Stewart family’s self-declared ‘love affair’ with The Bahamas lives on. From that faithful beginning, this Jamaican-born brand has expanded its one-of-a-kind offering and brought many benefits to The Bahamas.”
