Teachers at the Central Eleuthera High School staged a protest after a parent allegedly attacked a teacher at the school.

President of the Bahamas Union of Teachers, Belinda Wilson commented on the protest and other issues at the school. “Teachers at Central Eleuthera High School stood in solidarity, they wore black to show unity and there a series of meetings held with the principal, the district superintendent. There’s a list of concerns related to safety on the school campus, discipline or the lack there of and concerns about disruptive, rude students, one of whom is the son of the parent.”

Acting Director of Education, Dominique McCartney-Russell responded saying that the incident is under investigation and security at the school has been increased.
