The Bahamas bid farewell to Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Saturday evening, March 26, 2022 after their full day of events in Abaco and Grand Bahama, the last leg of their Official Visit to The Bahamas. It was the finish of their tour of three countries of the region — Belize, Jamaica, and The Bahamas on the Occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Prince William and Duchess Catherine during their time in the capital — met the Prime Minister, spoke to school children, greeted frontline health care workers, watched a Junkanoo parade, sailed in a regatta; and were hosted by the Governor General to a ‘glitz and glamour’ Reception.
They spoke to Hurricane Dorian survivors in Abaco, visited the Grand Bahama Children’s Home, and toured the award-winning and progressive Coral Vita project. Governor General His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Cornelius A. Smith; Prime Minister the Hon. Philip Davis; Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Chester Cooper, and their spouses; and other government officials bid farewell to the Royal Couple at Lynden Pindling International Airport upon their return to the United Kingdom.
