The United States recently issued an updated travel advisory for US citizens traveling to The Bahamas. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a travel advisory for Bahamians traveling to the United States earlier this month.
Despite these developments, US Charge d’Affaires, Kimberly Furnish has affirmed the strength of the relationship between the Bahamas and the United States.
She said, “I’m really happy to be here in The Bahamas. We have a wonderful exchange in dialogue with The Bahamas, a growing tourism industry. I think things are great between the United States and The Bahamas, we’re really happy to be here working with you.”
Speaking on the US Embassy’s new new on Shirley Street, Furnish said they hope to move into the new facility by the end of the year.
