A man was shot and killed on Providence Avenue early on Monday morning. The victim was unofficially identified as Geo Joseph.
Officer In Charge of the Criminal Investigations Department, Chief Superintendent Michael Johnson was on the scene where he provided details of the incident. He said, “our initial information is that the victim, who resides in this area, was just about to leave his residence when he was approached by two males, both armed. One armed with a high powered weapon who approached him and shot him multiple times about the body. Our information is that these males also took a gold colored Honda Accord which we believe is the victim’s vehicle.”
Johnson also spoke about illegal weapons in the country. ”Again we’re doing somethings with our US counterparts to try and mitigate against these weapons coming in. They’re coming in from all areas. We have different ports of entry. Our intelligence is giving us some information that we’re working with. We have been able to get guns that have came in through courier companies. And so those are investigations that will continue.”
