The British Colonial hotel closed its doors in February of 2022. After extensive renovations, the historic hotel is set to reopen on December 18th.
British Colonial General Manager, Dan McDermott spoke exclusively to ZNS News about the newly renovated property. “What our ownership group has done is they’ve kept the history and when you walk in the building you feel that history. But now you have all the modern conveniences of a hotel in 2023.”
McDermott added of the property, “you’re always gonna feel a piece of history when you come here. The rooms are different shapes and sizes, I think that’s part of the charm of the property.”
The General Manager also spoke to what guests can expect of the new British Colonial. “I think we’re gonna be available for our guests but we’re gonna allow guests to enjoy their experience without too much going on. I think your gonna see the kids are going to go over to Margaritaville. I think the adults will enjoy the charm and just walking around the property and just feeling this property to what it was and what it is now,” McDermott said.
The 288 room property now has new pools, a revamped beach, a new boardwalk from Senior Frogs restaurant to the Margaritaville hotel and new restaurants among other renovations.
