Residents of Sweeting’s Cay are still experiencing unreliable water supply. Water and Sewerage Corporation Area Manager, Tony Scriven spoke to ZNS News explaining the cause and how it will be addressed.
“Due to the limited capacity currently at the Sweeting’s Cay reverse osmosis plant, Water and Sewerage Corporation has that island on a peak hour distribution schedule which means that certain hours of the day we distribute water and then certain hours of the evening we stop distribution in order to build tank storage for the next daily distribution. Sweeting’s Cay has been looked at by Water and Sewerage and our partners in terms of putting a new reverse osmosis plant in place along with 20,000 gallons of storage. So we intend to work on those projects within the next month to resolve the issues that are currently being faced by residents of Sweeting’s Cay.”
