On Tuesday, 29th March 2022, at approximately 8:41am a Bahamasair chartered flight departed New Providence bound for Port-au-Prince, Haiti with a total of one hundred thirty-three (133) Haitian nationals onboard. Seventy-one (71) males, thirty-seven (37) females, and twenty-five (25) minors were among the group. Additionally a group of one hundred thirty-one (131) Haitian nationals were repatriated from New Providence to Port-au-Prince, Haiti at 3:00pm. This group consisted of one hundred fourteen (114) males, eight (8) females and nine (9) minors.
The Department’s deportation team led these escorts with all COVID-19 protocols strictly observed as the health, welfare, and safety of our officers, law enforcement counterparts, and migrants remain the highest priority.
