On November 18, 2024, thirty-four (34) foreign nationals were arraigned before Senior Magistrate Aniska Isaacs in Magistrate’s Court #8 for various immigration-related offences. Thirty (30) individuals pled guilty and were convicted of Illegal Embarkation, including:
Eighteen (18) Chinese nationals
Ten (10) Haitian nationals
One (1) Jamaican national
One (1) Bangladeshi national
Additionally, two (2) Haitian nationals were convicted of Illegal Landing, while one (1) British national and
one (1) Jamaican national were convicted of Overstaying.
Upon payment of fines or completion of sentences, all individuals will be turned over to the Department
of Immigration for deportation. Immigration Officer Valentino Bowe prosecuted on behalf of the
department. The public is reminded that the department is committed to executing its mandate to ensure
compliance with Statute Laws of the country.
