Accused murderers called back for retrial

Accused murderers Zintworn Duncombe and Cordero Saunders will have to face a jury of their peers for a second time, after the court of appeal sent their case back to the supreme court for a retrial.

Previously, the duo was serving time in prison for the execution style murder, kidnapping and attempted armed robbery of Tishka Braynen and her boyfriend senior immigration officer Shane Gardiner in Fresh Creek Andros, back in December of 2013.

However, they appealed and in July of last year, the appellate court quashed their conviction and overturned the sentences.

the court then heard both sides on whether a retrial should take place.

And after hearing those arguments, the court found that when all the factors are weighed, the scale tips toward a retrial.
