The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Mario Bowleg was questioned by reporters about the government’s readiness to hold this year’s Boxing Day and next year’s New Year’s Day Junkanoo parades.
Bowleg said, “preparations is going well. We had a walk through last night downtown with all the stakeholders involving all the ministries that are involved like the Ministry of Environmental Health, Ministry of Works, Ministry of Health, of course, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, National Security and all of us did a walk through just to ensure that the safety and the entrance points are all taken care of and everybody know what they have to do and ensure that collectively we come together and make this parade successful. Of course, JCNP and the groups are already prepared and ready to go fine tuning themselves in the shack. So we just waiting on the day for the parade to start.”
