The Annual Church Service of Thanksgiving for Parliamentarians was held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the historic Zion Baptist Church on East and Shirley Streets, Nassau. The service was presided over by the Bahamas Christian Council. Bishop Neil Ellis, senior pastor at Mount Tabor Church delivered the Sermon taken from Matthew, Chapter 14. He admonished the leaders to “Stay Focused” despite the many challenges facing the nation.
Also participating in the service were: Pastor, Rev. T. G. Morrison, Zion Baptist Church; the Rt. Reverend Laish Boyd, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of The Bahamas and the Turks & Caicos Islands; Roman Catholic Archbishop, the Most Rev. Patrick Pinder; Bishop Franklyn Ferguson, National Overseer, Church of God of Prophecy; Pastor Mario Moxey, First Vice-President, Bahamas Christian Council; and Bishop Gregory Minnis, Second Vice-President, Bahamas Christian Council.
Among those in attendance were Prime Minister Hon. Philip Davis, Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Chester Cooper, Leader of the Opposition Hon. Michael Pintard, President of the Senate Hon. Lashell Adderley, Speaker of the House of Assembly Hon. Patricia Deveaux, and other parliamentarians.
