The Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Cat Island, Rum Cay and San Salvador gave an update on construction progress at the Arthur’s Town airport over the weekend.
Standing on the site of the airport, the Hon. Philip Davis told reporters, “the airport in New Bight is about the get started and when that starts that would have to be shut down and this will be the port of entry for visitors coming into Cat Island. So we’re trying to do it in a way where Cat Island will never be left without having connection to the world. This is about to be complete I think in seven months and then the airport in New Bight. The terminal building has been started then the runway will start and when that starts then this will be open.”
