Director of Aviation, Dr. Kenneth Romer commented on airplane safety in the wake of airlines experiencing mechanical issues in the country.
Romer told ZNS News, “there are inspectors who go and inspect the airlines. But internally, Bahamasair, you have your smaller carriers, again, have strict programs when it comes to preventative maintenance. Often times we see in the public domain when an incident happen and we sometimes see the isolated incident but I can assure persons that safety is an uncompromising imperative, again, for the aviation ecosystem. And when there are issues, I say to our airlines don’t run away from it, address them and resolve the issues, again, to ensure that the passengers and the crew always have a safe experience.”
