During a courtesy call at the Ministry’s head office, on May 4, 2022, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation the Hon. I. Chester Cooper received a presentation of a framed copy of “Our Stingray Friend on Stocking Cay, Exuma,” by award-winning photographer and veteran photojournalist Eric Rose. Deputy Prime Minister Cooper was born on Great Exuma Island.
Also present were Permanent Secretary Reginald Saunders and Global Relations Consultant/Senior Advisor Senator the Hon. Randy Rolle.
Rose is currently a Senior Information Officer at Bahamas Information Services (BIS).
Rose also presented Minister Cooper with a copy of a unique sample book from the “From on High” series, featuring images of various Bahamian scenes and historic sites captured with a drone.
Rose took time to also share panoramic aerial images he captured of several scenes throughout The Bahamas, and encouraged more continued engagement with local photographers in showcasing what the country has to offer.
Over the years, Rose’s work in photographic fine arts has been recognized both locally and internationally and has won several awards, including as far away as Beijing, China. He most recently won the top award for Photography in the 2021 E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival.
