Baha Mar and Sandals prepare to reopen


The Atlantis Resort getting set to furlough more staff as a result of increased travel restrictions and limited airlift.

Still there is optimistim about employment in the hotel sector as other hotels across the country will soon be reopening their doors to visitors.

Minister of Labour, the Hon. Dion Foulkes says that he is happy for the many Bahamians who will be returning to work.

“We got a notification from sandals that their hotel in Exuma will be opening at the end of February and that the hotel here in Nassau will be opening at the end of March.

“That is very good news for over one thousand employees of Sandals.

“We also got notification that Baha Mar will be opening their other two hotels, the Rosewood and the SLS at the beginning of March, so Baha Mar will be completely open.

“That is extremely good news” Minister Foulkes said.
